rtk elevation maps

Elevation provides a layer that is useful in drainage MAPS and to locate the topographic position of various other layers of data. Elevation can be collected in several ways, but it is mandatory in our services that we collect electrical conductivity MAPS (EM38 or Veris) so we collect the detailed RTK GPS data during the mapping procedure. The MAPS shown below are a good example of how RTK elevation can be used to model water flow paths and areas of accumulation. This layer is vital when trying to figure out how certain areas of the field will respond to inputs. In wet years, depressions may always suffer reduced plant stands and yield loss due to excess moisture. If they are non-saline, these depressions may actually provide the best yields in the field under average and dry conditions.
