Target plant stands, crop health issues, tillage versus no-till, and new technologies are all examples of things observed in year to year general scouting. General scouting provides observations producers wouldn't normally catch. Producers typically will catch many issues, but sometimes their judgement gets clouded by their own bias and they get down an implementation path that may not be ideal.
We work with a diverse group of producers with many different plans of action and equipment. Since we are in the field every day all year observing these general trends, we get first hand information on what people are doing so knowledge can be transferred to others, albeit in a confidential manner so respect of farmers privacy is upheld.
