flow accumulation MAPS
After a field is mapped with RTK Elevation there are many different things that can be modelled. One of them is Flow Accumulation. This is a layer that shows how water runs across a field. This is useful for Drainage Planning. We have also observed that in years where there is excessive rainfall that crop yield is severely diminished in areas where these flow paths are present.
These maps are used by some clients to build drainage ditches or just to V-ditch. They show exactly where the water flows and where the inlet and outlet is.
When viewing yield, imagery, and other types of MAPS it isuseful to see how water movement is affecting the crop from year to year.
