Documentation
This component of a damage claim is perhaps the most important. Before the court or an insurance company will even look at the losses claimed, they review the documentation to see if there is actually a valid claim. Once the liability has been established or in other words, who was responsible, then they will decide on the damages.
If you hire a forensic agrologist too late, then the ability to establish liability becomes less concrete. As time passes, symptoms on plants and patterns in fields disappear. If you hire someone who comes but does a poor job of documenting your claim, then over time the little details that were missed are not recoverable and establishing liability becomes more difficult.
If the report established liability but is incomplete when it comes to measuring damages, then the opportunity to collect a fair settlement is diminished substantially. Compromises should not be made in reporting damages so that they will be accepted as an honest and fair assessment.
